Contract Description
The Glenorchy Road is a 45km section of special purpose road (SPR) which runs from Queenstown to Glenorchy along the edge of Lake Wakatipu. Sections get upgraded & widened periodically by Queenstown Lakes District Council / Transit NZ to improve safety and passing ability. The Roading Company subcontracted Base to undertake rock catch fencing, earthworks, drainage & finishing of 5 such locations.
- Construct 5 passing lane bays
- Earthworks widening – rock excavation, 6,000m3 cut & import
- Construct rock catch fences 1,014m2
- Construct Terramesh retaining structure 250m2
- Drainage works – stormwater, culverts, subsoil 1,500m
- Guardrail installation 290m
- Five separate sites – 4 separable portions of work
